I'm always so excited when an album arrives on my doorstep. Rachael & Nick's coffee table book arrived yesterday and it looks fabulous. I love seeing the design in print and I know they are going to LOVE it! :)

I snapped a few pictures before I boxed it all up for them. Laid it on this sweet afghan my mother-in-law crocheted for me this past year for Christmas. Made in my business colors. How sweet is she. :)

a sweet valentine

I got the sweetest email today from Kelli, one of my 2006 brides.

Hi Kris,

It is Kelli. You shot my wedding June 17th, 2006 and I'm still having a blast with fun/special things to do with the AMAZING pictures you took! I made this Valentine's Card for my Husband Dan and he just loved it! Your pictures brought back all those wonderful special moments between Dan and I on our wedding day. ... I thought I would share it with you because it was made possible because of your fantastic talent!!!

Thanks again for being such a wonderful photographer and friendly person, one that I still feel comfortable emailing after almost 2 years!

christmas flashback • dave + tracey 12.16.05

Two years ago today, I photographed the beautiful Christmas wedding of Dave and Tracey. They were married shortly after I started this blog so I wasn't yet doing slideshows. As I was going through their pictures to make the little holiday banner at the top of the page, I realized today is their anniversary. So I thought I'd share some of their pictures, which haven't before been seen here.

This wedding was extra special for me because it was my sister-in-law and I felt so honored to be their photographer. Everything was just beautiful. It was definitely a family affair for us - I was the photographer, my husband was the officiant, and our children were ring bearer and flower girl. :) Here are a few favorites from the day:

What a beautiful fall weekend it was! I took a drive to the east side of the state on Saturday afternoon for an intimate wedding at Depot Park in Clarkston. It was such a nice spot for a wedding. The weather was perfect, the bride and groom looked great, and their close family and friends stood in a circle around the inside of the gazebo to witness their vows. It was lovely. I knew from talking to Becky on the phone and emailing for the past couple months that she would be so nice in person and I was right. She is so sweet and she and Dan are so sweet together. Their kids were all in the wedding and were the cutest kids ever (except for my own, of course). :) Here are a few (OK ... more than a few) of my favorites from the day:

Who would've thought that an October wedding would have been such a warm day. It was hot and muggy, so we tried to get through the outdoor pictures quickly so everyone didn't melt. But then they climbed into their limo party bus, where the air was not working very well, and melted on the way to the reception. Despite the unseasonably warm weather, the day went beautifully. Everyone we met was so nice and fun to be around. And we got to see a couple familiar faces - one of my May 2006 grooms, Sean (Hi Angie! We missed you!), and his brother, Ian, who was in the wedding. It was such a nice wedding and SO organized. Rachael is the queen of spreadsheets and had everything for the wedding laid out in perfect order. :) She's one of the most organized brides I've ever worked with, sending me lots of information before the big day so I would know exactly what would take place. It was wonderful! :) There are so many wonderful pictures from their day that I want to share, but here are just a few that caught my eye today as I was looking through them.
